Doctor Brett Hamilton arrived in Round Rock, TX in 2004 shortly after graduating from optometry school. Round Rock / Austin's active lifestyle suits him well as he enjoys hiking with the dog and kids, trying new restaurants with his wife, and hanging out at the pool in the summertime. When outside of Central Texas, Doctor Hamilton's favorite vacation spot is the beach at South Padre Island with the family. He is also actively involved with Grace Covenant Church where he participates in the men’s ministries and small group Bible studies.
Dr. Hamilton began his optometry career as an optician working at Detroit Optometric Centers. He worked there for two years prior to doing mission work in Northeast Africa where he spent 6 months training opticians to make eyeglasses. Dr. Hamilton attended optometry school in Memphis, TN at Southern College of Optometry. Now he practices as a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist at the highest standard of care. He is currently working to complete the Optometric Extension Program which provides specialist training in the treatment of binocular dysfunctions (lazy eyes, focusing problems, visually induced headaches, and some cases of learning disabilities, and ADHD) through exercises and visual training.
Dr. Hamilton currently treats patients for their routine eye care needs (glasses and contact lenses) as well as managing their ocular disease including glaucoma, dry eyes, eye infections, diabetic retinopathy, medically necessary contact lens fits, and the status of post-surgerical procedures including cataracts and LASIK. Dr. Hamilton loves his job and his daily interaction with patients. Come in and meet him today; you will see that he cares for you as a person as well as the health of your eyes.
